What Happen to the land Maldives

      There are some pearls scatters on the earth, and we usually called them Maldives. Maldives is a place located in the southern Indian Ocean. This country has the tropical monsoon climate, and this environment makes the island has the variety of different creatures. For example, marine ecosystem has 1100 species of fish, 5 species of sea turtles, 21 species of whales and dolphins, 187 species of corals, 400 species of mollusks, and 83 species of echinoderms, and 120 copepods, 15 amphipods as well as over 145 crab and 48 shrimp species as well. This amazing scenery attracts people around the world come to visit every year. However, do you know that this adorable island will disappear after 7 years?

    Maldives’s president Mohamed Nasheed in 2012 stated that "If carbon emissions were to stop today, the planet would not see a difference for 60 to 70 years." "If carbon emissions continue at the rate they are climbing today, my country will be underwater in seven years." It means that Maldives will probably become the next Atlantis which submerged under the ocean. There are two main reasons that cause the environment issue. First is the global warming problem, as we know that after the industry revolution, the carbon emissions gradually increase, so the world’s climate changed. Therefore, the temperature increase results in the South Pole and Greenland’s glacier melt, and the sea level rose. The second reason is many tourists visit Maldives every year, the more they care about the tourism industry, the more hurt the original ecology. That is why the marine wide creatures sharply decrease in the recent year.  

    Due to climate change in the recent year, Maldives have ranked the third most endangered nation due to flooding. Maldives is a place that I eager to visit one day, because of this reason; I want to find some solutions to protect this beautiful land. For example, we can use public transportation instead car or motorcycle, and also control the time to use air condition, these are the way to reduce carbon emission. In order to protect Maldives’s ecosystem, we should treat the environment kindly. If we keep doing it, we are not only just protecting Maldives but also protecting our earth!

Kinds of Restaurant in Taiwan

     Everyone love to enjoy delicious food, by tasting some gourmet dishes can let us forget some upset things, and also, it is a way to become happy. Especially the people in Taiwan, we love to go to a restaurant to enjoy food with friends, so there is variety of restaurant in Taiwan. However, which kinds of the restaurant is Taiwanese most like? I am going to introduce in the following essay.

    First, some people pursue exquisite and high-quality dishes, they would prefer to choose a high-priced restaurant. This restaurant is suitable for people who have a date or have a dine with an important man. The atmosphere is the main reason they want to choose this kind of restaurant. Giving an example in Hualien, the restaurant called dolphin is a western dining in downtown. It is the place which people recommend on the internet.

    The second kind of restaurant I want to introduce is an all-you-can-eat restaurant. I think it is also the most famous type of restaurant in Taiwan. It is suitable for people to dine together, and young people also love consumption pattern because they can eat a lot, so it is every cost-effective to them. In Hualien, there is a restaurant called Fondue restaurant, which is a barbecue all-you-can-eat restaurant that my friends always invite me to eat. There are many kinds of meat, and the meat is all soft and juicy. I think this restaurant is the most eat in Dong Hwa college students.

    The last kind of restaurant I want to mention is eatery. Although it neither does not have high-quality atmosphere nor cannot eat everything. It is the most important restaurant in our daily life. Because these restaurants provide the homely food, and it is cheaper for people who want to dine after work or class. We cannot eat expensive restaurant every day, but we need eatery in our everyday life. I want to introduce an eatery in 志學 street, which is called 飽足 restaurant. The food is very delicious, especially the stuffed chicken dish. Every time I want to order this dish, but it sells out very quickly.

My Favorite Sights in Australia

Since I was a little child, I have always yearned to visit Australia. This country is located in the southern hemisphere, and is full of mysterious culture that is highly different from Taiwan. However, due to the distance and my travel budget, I have not achieved my dream until college.

One day, my friends ask me what plans do I have for my summer vacation? I tell them I want to visit Australia, which I have not gotten the chance to go. Unexpectedly, they are deeply interested in joining me if I planned to go abroad. Shortly after, our backpacking trip begins, and we look forward to visiting Australia.

Once we arrive in Sydney, my uncle picks us up at the airport, and we head back to their house to take a short break. It is a very magnificent house. We run to the patio, lying on the turf, and play with the dog.

The atmosphere is lazy and comfortable. We have a wonderful afternoon in Australia. In the evening, we arrive at our share house, where gathers lots of working holiday people. We make many friends and share many experiences there. If we miss Taiwanese foods, we will cook ourselves a few dishes of Taiwanese food to fulfill our homesickness.

We also visit Sydney famous attractions, and our first stop is the opera house. The architecture is quite unique, which the designer’s idea is from a stripping orange.

If you bring food there and eat it outdoor, you need to watch out for the seagulls, they will snatch your food just like the monkeys in Taiwan.

Our second stop is the blue mountain, there is an old place that appeared in the Holocene Jurassic.

We stay in Sydney, a convenient and cozy city, for fifteen days. Then, we take the flight to Melbourne to spend our last fifteen days.

When the airplane land at Melbourne airport, the environment is quite different from Sydney, this city is older and more vintage, and this can be seen in their train station.

We take the train to our share house there, and along the way the scenery is quite cinematic.

The Australians are relaxed and leisure people, along the Yarra river, there are quite a number of people lie on the chair and enjoy their coffee.

We also visit Melbourne famous coffee street, and we order a cake, trying to act like the locals, to experience their culture and life.

In the zoo, we see many kinds of peculiar animals, such as kangaroo, platypus, and koala. The most interesting thing is we get to feed and get closer to the kangaroo.

The Twelve Apostles rock is also a famous attraction in Melbourne, we take the bus to appreciate this spectacular landscape of Australia. During one month, we stay in Australia, me and my friends have a great experience and wonderful memory there.
